All COFRA glasses are in compliance with EN 166 European standard which defines mechanical resistance requirements and protection against optical radiations. All COFRA glasses have been certified by European accredited bodies which grant such performances. All performances granted by all articles are quoted both on the lens marking and on the frame , as mentioned on the following table: |
PICTOGRAM | LENS MARKING | PROTECTION | DESCRIPTION | MINIMUM REQUIREMENT |
![]() |
F |
Protection against high-speed particles (or impact resistance) |
Glasses resistant against both front and side impact caused by a high-speed steel sphere |
Impact resistance at 45 m/s (T=23 °C) speed |
![]() |
FT |
Protection against high-speed particles (or impact resistance) against extreme temperatures |
Glasses which grant “F” performance also at extreme temperatures of -5 °C and +55 °C | Impact resistance at 45 m/s (T=-5 °C and T=55 °C) speed |
![]() |
K | Resistance against damage of surface caused by thin particles* | Lens resistant to deterioration of surfaces provoked by rubbing of thin particles | Luminance factor ≤ 5 cd/(m2*lx) |
![]() |
N | Anti- fog resistance* | Lens able to spread condensation formed on the surfaces of lenses in the passsage from cold to hot environments, by preventing fogging | Anti-fog resistance ≥ 8 seconds |
